There is a billboard I see quite often. It says "For Role Models Not Super Models" Sounds like a lovely message, does it not? Well, why is this "role model" the size of a super model?
I don't even know the store who put this ad out, but to me it is misleading and ridiculous.
A size 2 is not a normal person. Honestly Jessica Simpson should be on that billboard, because she actually represents a generation of normal sized women. Well closer than supermodeltherolemodel.
I guess to be a good role model, you have to be thin. Well, I'm not a size 2, and I don' t think I'll be. I would look stupid on that board as well. Because it is a known fact that I am far from the average size women. Next time we make a advertisement, it should make some sense.
Size 12. That is the average size of a North American women. 8 is said to be desirable. Well, 2 is role model size, is it not? I'm sorry, but that makes little sense.
Maybe this isn't my place to argue. I should be arguing about eating disorders. But to me, someone who is bigger than a super model, and now it seems a role model as well, shit like that is not politically correct.
I should join a debate team.
For all those people who are a size 2 or smaller. Do you think you are average size? Because if you do, get outside more often. Every women out there is a size 2 is envied by everyone, even if they won't show it.
Reitmans, I think it was Reitmans.
