Lack of better respect.

Something my younger brother said recently really set me off. Basically it was:

"If I had a gay kid I'd beat the shit out of them."

Uhm...how does that help, or make you feel any better?

For most parents whom have children who come out, some reason they feel as if they failed. How can you think that? In my mind, if your gay child has the courage to come out to the world, you have succeeded in making your child comfortable in his or her skin. How is that failing?

A gay child is not a failure, far from it. People who have the courage to say "Hey world, I'm Gay, I'm different, and I don't care what you think" Are going to be the best they can be in life, because they are stronger than others who live with fear of being rejected.

The failed are the future it seems.
